How to display your finished diamond painting in the best way

CONGRATS! After a lot of hard work and long hours, you have finally finished your diamond painting. Now that you’re done, you need to ask yourself one very important question:

“HOW DO I WANT TO DISPLAY MY MASTERPIECE?”

You need to show off all your hard work! People need to be able to see how good you are at diamond painting.

Rest assured that there are a lot of ways to show off your diamond painting, no matter how much money you have or how creative you are.
We’ve put together a list of the seven best ways to show off your diamond painting based on suggestions, comments, and our own knowledge. We hope you’ll try some of these great options and love them as much as we do.

#1 ATTACH YOUR DIAMOND PAINTING TO A PRE-STRETCHED, BLANK CANVAS WITH GLUE.

canvas frame

This is a great option that is very easy and not too expensive. All you have to do is buy a canvas that has already been stretched at your favorite craft store or online. Then you’ll glue your finished canvas on top of it. This choice is so easy that it takes all of the hard parts out of the equation. You won’t have to stretch or staple anything!

Use a spray adhesive on both the back of the painting and the blank canvas to make sure it stays in place. Put your painting on the canvas as soon as the glue feels sticky. Smooth it out and get rid of any bubbles or wrinkles as you go. Let it dry for 24 hours after you’re done. Your work of art will be ready to hang after 24 hours.
To find the right size for your painting, you should measure the canvas after you’ve cut off the edges. If you do want a big border, you should buy a canvas that is as close as possible to the size you measured.

#2 ADD STRETCH BARS TO YOUR COMPLETELY DONE CANVAS

If you like to do things yourself, this might be a good choice for you. It’s a bit harder, but it’s also not too expensive. For this, you’ll need a set of stretcher bars. There will be clear instructions with the stretcher bars, and the end result will be a beautiful display.

Recommendation: Buy a size that is about 5 centimeters shorter than the canvas so that you have room to wrap it. This makes a really cool diamond-shaped edge around the edges.

#3 ATTACH YOUR PAINTING TO A FOAMBOARD OR CARDBOARD

For this method, you will need to measure and cut a few things. You will also need a foam board, which you can buy online or at a craft store or hardware store near you.

To make a flat painting with no edges, cut the foam board to the desired size with box cutters (the same size as your canvas minus the border). Then, just glue your painting in the middle of the foam so that only the edges hang off the sides.
The next and last step is to fold the edges over the back of the foam board and glue them down firmly. Make sure the canvas is firmly attached to the foam board.
If you want your painting to look more creatively framed, cut a border out of oak tag and put it around it before you glue it to the foam board.

#4 TO SHOW YOUR WORK, USE A POSTER FRAME

If you don’t like to do things yourself, this is a good choice. Get a poster frame at a craft or hobby store near you. You can find large poster board frames at Target and Walmart for under $25. Just open the frame and put your diamond painting behind the clear plastic.

Make sure to turn the insert around and put it behind your painting before you put the back on, so that any exposed edges will be a solid color. When the back is on, it’s ready to be hung up.

#5 FRAMES CAN BE FOUND AT THE NEAREST THRIFT SHOP.

You can find unique and beautiful used frames for diamond paintings of any size at thrift stores and antique stores. This is such a simple and beautiful way to show off your diamond painting.

#6 HAVE YOUR PAINTING PROFESSIONALLY MOUNTED AND FRAMED

This is by far the easiest option, since all you have to do is bring it to the pros! It’s too bad that it will cost you. You can choose the frame and mat yourself from a wide range of colors and wood patterns. This is something that a lot of bigger craft stores, like Michael’s, offer. Before you go, look for coupons or sales to save a few dollars.

#7 BUY A TRADITIONAL PICTURE / PHOTO FRAME

TRADITIONAL PICTURE : PHOTO FRAME

A simple photo frame is always a good choice. When it comes to price and quality, there’s something for everyone and every budget.

Buy a frame that is as close as possible to the size of your painting. Just use a utility knife and a ruler to cut the mat. Make sure you’re cutting in a straight line! Before you cut, measure in three places (the ends and the middle) and mark.

Some more hints and tips

  • Even though all of our ideas will frame your painting from wall to wall, you can fill in any empty space on the top, sides, or bottom with small photos that go with your painting.
All of the options, especially the “do it yourself” ones, can be turned into hanging frames by adding a ribbon or rope to the frame.
  • Glue the painting to the back of the frame, even (or especially) if you buy a frame. If you don’t do this, diamond paintings are very heavy and will start to fall inside the frame after a while.
  • If you’re mounting your kit on foam or cardboard, you might want to use Velcro strips along the top and sides of the back to keep it in place.
